I'm back!!! (Aug 29, 2008 5:40 pm)

Yup, long time no type. Well, just to update, I have finally finished my first week of sophomore year. Wow. It's so hectic you can imagine. Just last night (my busiest night), I barely survived. My schedule:

1. PreCal H (D)
2. Art 1 General
3. Dance 1
4. English 2 GT

5. Spanish 3 H
6. Chemistry H
7. World His Pre-AP

I have already realize through my schedule that it would be impossible for me to finish my homework in my other classes this year. Absolutely. Art and Dance give you no free time at all like Health and Speech last year where I would totally do my homework in there. I have the feeling that I might change me schedule but for not I'll endure. The pressure is on this year...both from parents and the teachers. Freaky. It's also frightening all my teachers always PROMISE me that their class is hard as heck. I'm not sure I can handle that at the moment. I barely survived this year. So here's a long list of my classes.

PreCal H (dual) which means that I also get college credit. So its a super must that I ace this class. I don't want to botch up my first college GPA. Mr. Teacher is really nice and our class is funny too. Monday and Tuesday was okay, but Wednesday to today, I can totally honestly test you I'm so lost. Last year's book was so much easier because it told you what example you could refer to if you could get your homework problem correctly. This one words the instructions to complete hardness to where I can even understand what its asking me and also I'm not following. I do do my homework but I might not get my homework. I need to make some study buddies fast or else my downfall.

Art is okay. I made some fun friends from my table to talk to. My teacher today just took a picture of everyone in class so she could recognize our face and memorize our names. Horrid. I hate pictures. But the art is okay for me. But I heard the teacher grades really hard. Ahh... Kathleen has the same class but is most likely to later move up towards probably Art 2 or 3. Just to clarify, she's in the same class, but different period.

Dance
is interesting. Haven't really done anything yet but our teacher is a bit unorganized. I'm trying out clothes right now so I can know what size I am. The special dance clothes are going to be expensive, that's a for sure. Hope its nothing intense cause I can barely touch my toes right now. Pray for me.

English II GT is intense. First week already and she has issued the Illiad and we are to have a test on it in two weeks. And the Illiad is a pretty thick book you know, 914 pages. We have to read and summarize at least two each night. We are reading at least 3 more books (not short stories) than the English I Pre-AP. Apparently, there's finally a difference between those two but I'm not liking it so much. My teacher is great though. I know her boy. He was with me in StuCo and choir last year. And I'm very happy about the fact that she has recycling bins for BOTH plastic bottles and paper in her room. I often recycle in her room, and already a week into her class, and I have been announce "the Environmentalist." Ho-yeah! I pray I make it thru her class alive though. Next, we have a essay due next Fri, and quiz on next Tuesday and her reading assignment.

Spanish III H is homework-crammed. Each night she gives us homework from the internet, our workbook, and her own worksheets. Bad thing is that I heard from Kathleen is that once she talked for the entire period and so KK's class was only allowed 15 minutes to take a test. She saids she expects us to memorize everything we've ever learned in Spanish. She's an okay teacher. I probably wouldn't drop this class because this is where I have lunch and my friends, and my best friend kingwood friend, Anh.

Chemistry H is interesting. My teacher teaches at a college level and with funny past chemistry stories. He's very smart, as I can tell. I like the way he gives us the test because he's already announce that he does include word scrambles and puzzles. My friend sits right next to me which is fabulous and currently we have a project that due Tues. And our test on Friday. I hope to stay in the class. Most probably one I wouldn't drop.

World History H
is majorly intense. My teacher constantly tells us that her course is super hard and you should drop if you can't take it. She's an applications person and I can definately tell she's a harsh teacher. She saids that she isn't a teacher that would just test you on the info from the book just because you memorize the facts. She saids that in her classroom, you have to apply it and she also has an famous special matching thing in her class. Its a class where either you do really good or FAIL. Scary. My friends are in that class so hopefully, I will do well.

So, there you have it folks. Next post is about my first week at school. :)

FashionNow @ Target (Aug 03, 2008 10:02 pm)

As you might know, last Sunday was the release of a new Target in New Jersey and also also in my area. I visited the new Target yesterday and am very please to know that its also a green Target but without the park at one of the ends. The Target in Atascocita is has the recycled plastic shopping carts which I was just so excited to drive around and that was absolutely wonderful. I wasn't able to stop too long but only to buy cards and stop by the restroom. I wasn't able to take pictures as it was an unexpected trip to Target straight from TestMasters but I will next time. So, that was just an intro, but in honor of the new Target thats in the area and the start of the Richard Chai for Target collection, I decided to write a long post of all the current and future Target designers.
As you may know, Target has International GO Designers. These up-coming designers collaborate with Target for a short limited-edition collection for like a month and a half or whatever. This is one the wonderful reasons I LOVE Target. Its designer clothing but cheaper. And Target prices are exactly like that of a regular store if they were to have one. All Target designers are fabulous. Now, they have different sections of GO Designers. Jewelry, Footwear, Handbags, and Clothings. Its awesome. And then, there's the in-house designers. In-house designers are limited edition. They are velcro to Target. Isaac Mizrahi also designs clothes for Target. And Sonia Kushuk. They are just as fabulous but not limited and they are just as great. The latest group to join the in-house designers is Converse One Star. And to prove to you their wonderfulness, they have created the 'Target GO International Private Label Collection.' Its an collection of clothing designed by the in-house designers to showcase during the breaks between each different guest GO Designer. The most recent one, I was very pleased with. It took off yesterday sadly, which I did not knew at the time. But then, Richard Chai's collection came in today which makes everyone happy. The third private label as already been previewed by me and its mainly with houndstooth-type of clothing. Its coming in September right after Chai's departure. Right now, I'm going to start with showing you the fabulous current fashion in Target right now, including the ones on clearance!

My favorite looks from Richard Chai's Collection (thanks to nitro:licious.com):

Sweetheart Dress in Black $39.99 and Cotton Canvas Trench Coat in Plaid Print $44.99

Long Cardigan in Black $39.99, Sleeveless Ruffle-Neck Striped Top in
White/Orange $22.99 and Sleeveless Ruffle Dress in Black $34.99

And may I present to you the Target Go Internation Private Label Collection #2 that just left featuring floral clothing (They are clearance now and my prices are updated...almost!):

Camisole in Floral Print $16.09, Double-Layer Stripe-Back Tank in Blue $16.89,
Linen Shorts in Tan $13.49 and Stripe Dress in Orange/Cream $14.99
(Looks like something classic from Ralph Lauren)

Button-Front Ruffle Dress in Navy $14.99 and Cowlneck Tank in Orange $17.49,
Stripe-Back Tank in Blue $?, Slash-Pocket Shorts in Floral Print $12.49

Moving on to handbags, currently we have Botkier for Target. Her new collection has proven to be very metallic-y and some leather but not to my taste. But, I do have to say that it was better than Gryson, the handbag GO designer before her.

For accessories/jewelry, Subversive for Target was a fabulous jewelry collection that I absolutely loved. It was from March 23 - July 20th but is now on clearance. The most popular ones are already out of stock but they still have some great ones such as these:

3-Strand Multi-Tone Necklace $14.99 and Blossom Cluster Pendant Necklace $14.99

Double Strand Cactus and Pearl $14.99 and Killer Bee and Roses Pendant $19.99

Multi-Chain Charm Necklace $19.99 and Multi-Strand Watch Fob Pendant Necklace $29.99
And there's more because at Target...

Closing this lovely entry on the current Target stuff, let my tell you a bit more fun facts about the Target Guest Designer, Richard Chai.
    1. Richard Chai worked under Donna Karen, Marc Jacobs, and Geoffrey Been, and got rave review (My instinct told me that be worked under Marc Jacobs because of that orange tank above, really Marc Jacobs style. I'm brilliant!). 2. Richard Chai and Phillip Lim are great best buds and are front road at each others runways (Source: September edition of Teen Vogue). 3. Richard Chai started his own collection in 2004 and has won lots of awards. He has just recently been accepted in the CFDA!

And some of the other lovely in-house designers for Target are:
Sami Hayek - office supplies, bedding
Isaac Mizrahi and Mossimo - clothing
Victoria Hagan - classic and modern interior design
Sonia Kashuk - beauty and makeup
Thomas O' Brien - vintage modern interior
Sean Conway - outdoor decor and furniture
    Liz Lange - maternity clothing
Rachael Ashwell - shabby chic home decor
Michael Graves - kitchen appliances, laundry+cleaning, games
Isabelle de Borchgrave - floral party sets

TARGET (Jul 31, 2008 1:51 pm)

Target is one of the most fabulous superstores ever.Comparing WalMart, HEB, and Target, I love Target. I think WalMart needs a new look. KMart already has a new look. HEB is okay. WalMart is kinda old but still great on low prices. What I love about Target is that they have GO International Designers to design clothes. They also are big supporters of organic, and green (they now have recycled plastic shopping carts), and they have great furniture stuff! And to add to my happiness, they just opened a Target in Atascocita today! Funny thing is that also today, they unleashed a another Target in another part of the US, the Jersey shore.

They consider that the Jersey Target as their 'green model.' According to my article on WWD(Practically the only one I can read), its on "the site of two former landfills and meets the standards of teh Silver LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building rating system (Brookman)." I haven't been to the new Target yet but I'm very excited since Richard Chai's new anticipated clothing line for Target is coming out on August the 3rd! I've been looking around for a simple cardigan and gladly enough, he has one in his collection. I've been comparing the prices but am still looking for another cheaper one. Maybe I shall write up a Target special as an entry. That'll be awesome. I can't wait to check the Target out! Anyone can look at the Target article from WWD here. And here's a pic of the new recycled plastic shopping cart from the Jersey Shore Target:

Galleria with Cousins! (Jul 31, 2008 12:49 am)

Yesterday, I went to the Galleria with my cousins. Most fabulous because I haven't seen them in long time and I miss them and haven't shopped for a long time. Our first stop was Banana Republic which all of us got nothing but fun. I was looking at these organic tanks but I was sure I could find a tank cheaper than $10 per tank. We had fun in Wet Seal and dELiA*s. At Wet Seal, I got an awesome bargin for 2 tank for $10. Although I have to say, the line to pay was way boring and super longer than it needed to be. And at dELiA*s, I got an tee, orginally $26.5, but since I tried on a jean, I got an $10 off card. KaYing got and awesome musical scarf. So, here are some pics.

Afterwards, I had the pleasure of staying over at Jasmine's house for the night and being her client of her infamous avacado facial. Truely a lovely experience. Then, next morning, I had lots of compliments to Jasmine's delight, and was sent back to Kingwood to attend TestMasters. Only after TestMaster, alone in my room, did I realize the irony of my green tee. Apparently, my green tee isn't so "green" because its 50% Cotton and 50% Polyester. None the less, I had a fab time with my cousins shopping. Next time, I'm taking them to Zara because we could go there this time. And then, also, we shall all reserve our spot at the Cheesecake Factory because we never attended this time because no reservation. There were lots of people to my surprise. Well, afterwards, I came home, but before TestMasters, I served Kyle and Jasmine my lemon cheesecake and they very much enjoyed it. Makes me happy.

P.S. At TestMasters this time was a guy named Stefan. He taught Geometry and we got Starburst!

Fashion Bible (Jul 24, 2008 11:29 am)

In Legally Blonde, Elle and the other Delta Nu, Brooke Taylor Windham, both considered the Cosmopolitan magazine to be their Bible. And actually, I have found the real fashion bible, Women's Wear Daily or WWD! Apparently, if you subscribe, you'll get 250 mags a year for the cost of $99. Wow. Its costs a lot, right? So, for me, I shall be stuck reading it online everyday. Go for cheap! Evidently, as I read on Wiki, this magazine is the equavalent of the articles of Peter from Magicians of Love. Take a look here. I have already read some articles and looked over some runways. So exciting! Well, the report is and I'm out! (that was quoting Disney Channel if you didn't get it.)

UPDATE: So, WWD is the Fashion Bible for Women, but I have found the other branches of fashion mags that revolutionize this industry.

WWD - Women's Wear Daily

FN - Footwear News

DNR - Daily News Record: Defining Men's Fashion

UPDATE #2: So, my goal is to read WWD everyday since the day I founded out about it. It talks fashion business, money, and talks about the runway. I was soo excited. Well, today was my first time to actually start my goal, but I discovered that you actually have to subscribe to even read it online. Online, evidently, they only give you a couple sentences of the article, a preview. And if you don't subscribe, you can't read it. This drives me nuts. RAHHHH... And I'm not planning on paying $99 for the mag. :( Well, that goal has totally shattered.

Well, I have to say that Allure is more of a beauty magazine, doesn't really focus on fashion hince on the side it reads "Allure...The Beauty Expert." Well, rest assure, Lingy, I don't read Cosmopolitan.

Cosmopolitan isn't the fashion bible, it's the sex bible. Every cover has something referring to sex. I dislike it intensely. I much prefer Allure.
