I have been taking guitar lessons for the last week, and it has been an awesome time. Knowing I am going to be leaving soon on missions work, and being quite a devoted Christian himself, my teacher has been putting me through some very fast paced lessons. I have musical experience from being in the band for as long as I was, which is one reason why I can go through such a fast paced lesson schedule. We have almost literally gone through 8 weeks of lessons in 1 week, learning the G scale and all it's modes (which in a sense, is all the scales on the guitar with some minor changes made). We are planning on one more lesson to finish the modes for the scales, and then we are going to spend a lesson on song writing, chord construction (not the use of triads to make a chord, but special chords), and some more advanced technique. Not bad I say, especially since I have only been playing for 4 months, and yet I have learned stuff that people don;t generally get into until they have been playing over a year (most people in general, although there is always the exception). This has been the best money spent in a long time, and it seems I am meant to be playing this guitar, which I will use to bring glory and honor to God alone!
