I could show you pictures of starving children or refugees in China being arrested by the police. I could list a bunch of facts, like:

- anywhere from 600,000 - 1.2 million - 3 million people have died of starvation in the 90's due to famine

- between 150,000 - 200,000 North Koreans are in prison camps around the country, mostly accused of political crimes or whose family member committed a politcal crime

- between 10,000 - 300,000 North Koreans refugees are hiding in China. Refugees that are caught are sent back to North Korea where they face imprisonment or death

I'm not here to shock people, I'm here to get people to take action. It's very simple to play a role in the human rights movement. You can,

-raise money
-educate others

In my opinion, raising money is the most accessible. Anyone with a particular skill or even just the drive to make change happen can raise money. By raising money for North Korean human rights, you are

-providing food, clothing, shelter, education to a growing number of North Korean refugees hiding in China and other Asian countries, especially children
-paying for transit out of China and possibly into South Korea or the US
-fees, fines, bribes, whatever obstacles that can be overcome with a little extra cash on hand
