Moi dix Mois is a solo project by Mana, which he formed on 19 October 2002, ten months after the disbandment of Malice Mizer. The bandfs sound is very close to his former band which includes harpsichord, electric guitar and fast heavy drumming. The lyrics which Mana wrote for Moi dix Mois are more personal and deeper in meaning.

The first concert that Moi dix Mois played, Invite to Immortality Tour, was outside Japan in March 2005. It was held in Munich and Paris after which the bandfs vocalist, Juka, left the band on 24 April 2005. The release of Beyond the Gate saw that the band had a replacement vocalist named Seth. Their support bassist and drummer, Kazuno and Tohru also left after the album was released.
