some idea about tattoo (Dec 21, 2008 4:07 am)
Getting a tattoo has to do with not only deciding what design to get,
but also what area of the body to place your tattoo. Here are some
very important points for dealing with both of these decisions.
1. What design to get? The design you choose is extremely important.
Your choices of style range from traditional, old school looking
designs to much more modern, and to other styles such as tribal.
Choose a style which speaks to you. It should be a style your
naturally drawn or attracted to. A big mistake many make is jumping on
whats popular. For instance, tribal tattoo's were the popular style of
tattoo to get a few years back. Many jumped on that bandwagon, and now
that the fad has eased up, some are beginning to regret their choices.
2. Where to get your tattoo? Where you have your tattoo placed is very
important. A good design in the wrong place can be regrettable. Or a
bad design in a prominent place can also later be regrettable. If you
like to play it relatively safe, it's important to choose an area
which is not going to be visible all the time. Upper arms for
instance, or the back. Getting your tattoo in an area which you can
cover it up is not only a good idea, but actually can bring more
significance to the tattoo, as it's not for show, it's mainly for
personal view and admiration.
There are also trends and fads in this area of tattooing as well. The
trend in recent years has been for females to get tattooed on the
lower back. This has become so overdone and common that now slang
terms abound for female tattoo's placed on the low center of back.
"Tramp stamp", is now common slang for female tattoo's in this area.
It's in part a reflection of how so many jumped on the low back
bandwagon. The slang, "gramp stamp" has also surfaced, referring to
the number of elderly who will still have their low center back
tattoo's.
