"From my experience, I found that (a good majority of the time) when a guy develops a real, close relationship with a girl, he develops romantic feelings for her. Not just a casual friendship, but a completely trusting relationship, where the girl and the guy can freely talk about anything from troubles to fears to a random thought. They can hang out together and have a great time, and they never get tired of each other. For a guy, I think being in this kind of friendship develops emotions past friends.

But,

For girls, the same kind of relationship has a completely different point of view. I feel like when girls find a guy friend like this, they don't develop romantic feelings (again, I'm not saying all the time, but many times) but instead hold on to them as a platonic friend. The guy will always just be the guy to go to for everything but romance."
