i don't really write in blogs that often, so doing it more than one day in a month is something of an accomplishment 4 me. yay! so nyway, the first part of the morning we did errands like going 2 the grocery store, picking up laundry, moving the car 4 the street sweeper, walking milo (my aunt's dog), and she went 2 pilates while i stayed at her apartment. milo is really cute, he's a wheaten terrier, and he has a fluffy, wavy white coat, and he's about nine years old. my aunt might get another one since milo's getting older. but nyway, for lunch we went 2 this sushi place called je'bon, which is supposed 2 be pronounced "jiat bone", dont ask me why, because it doesnt look that way, i honestly first thought it was some sort of french restaurant when she first mentioned it to me, but o well. it was really good tho.
<< tape man!
after giant robot, we waked down to this tea place called sympathy for the kettle. its very cozy in there, and there was a huge selection of teas. i got the lavender lemonade, which was delicious, and my aunt got this cranberry apple tea, which was ok. when we got back we took milo to the dog run, and while we were there we decided to eat dinner at the apartment and then watch a movie on demand. we had this frozen cheese and pesto pizza, which we put red and yellow peppers on cuz it looked a little plain, and salad with mushrooms and tomatoes and parmesan cheese with italian dressing. it was a pretty good dinner. we ended up watching the water horse, which was an ok movie, i kinda liked it, and then we went to bed at about midnight. it was a pretty good first day. tomorrow we're gonna go see wicked, and we might go to rockefeller center too. we also might go to this place called kinokuniya bookstores, which has even more japanese stuff there. well nyway bi! i'll write 2morrow
i got the phoenix roll which was "crab, tuna, avocado and masago (fish eggs, which arent that bad) with salmon on top". it was really good. my aunt got the eel lover's combo which had eel (duh), avocado, taikiko (dont ask me what that is, cuz i don't kno. she didnt either.), and this sauce poured on top. the other part of the combo was just eel and rice tied together with a strip of seaweed (i forget what that's called). i had never tried eel before so i decided to try one of hers and it was really yummy. i gave her one of mine in return for the one i ate.
after this, we planned to go to this little kawaii shop called giant robot. it's a really cool store. there are actually two of them, next door to each other. one is called giant robot, the other is the giant robot gallery. the regular giant robot was the first one we went into, and it has all sorts of little japanese otaku collecters items, like cute little figures and little mystery boxes where you could get any of the characters shown on the box. i got these cute little tofu figures for callie and jenny, and i also got these mamegoma stickers, and a kerori keychain. the other stuff they had in there were uglydolls (i <3 uglydolls!), san-x and hello kitty plushies, and these anime art books, and they also had this little glass case up front that showed you what was in the mystery boxes and the figure sets. all the stuff in there was so adorable and tiny! i'll take pictures of what i bought and post them when i get back.
next we went into the giant robot gallery. they had so much fun stuff in there. there was this robot battery eater where you put your old batteries in the robot's mouth and its eyes blink, and my aunt bought this tapeman tape dispenser, where you put the tape in his head and it comes out of his mouth and the little tape cutting thingy is at his toes so it looks like he's stretching his tongue all the way down to his toes. it was hilarious. there was also this calculator that looked and smelled like a chocolate bar, and this squeaky toy that had two seeds for eyes and you were supposed to stick it headfirst in a pot of soil so it would grow. i guess the squeaky toy part was biodegradeable or something.
