2nd day! -nyc (Jul 03, 2008 10:02 am)

today, we decided 2 do the fifth avenue thing and go see rockefeller center, but when we got there we realized we hadn't had lunch yet, so we spent about 30mins trying find somewhere to eat and we finally ended up at bryant park where we saw this little cafe across the street which had sandwiches at le pan quotiden where i got a mini baguette sandwich with roast beef, parmesan cheese and pesto, and my aunt got a tartine, which is a sandwich like the baguette but is made with a different type of bread and its a little bigger, and it has different sandwich choices. my aunt got a skim latte to drink and i got some extremely sour lemonade, which was yummy because i like sour things. then we went and sat in bryant park to eat our sandwiches. i ate about 3/4ths of mine because they were pretty big, even tho they were minis.

when we were done eating, we went to rockefeller center, but we didnt stay there very long because i had already seen it last winter when i went for my birthday anyway. we went to an anthropologie and looked inside there for a few minutes, and then we went to H&M and looked at the stuff in there, which was pretty cool. i hope there'll be one in atlanta soon, cuz i would love them if they did put one there, at lenox on something. after that we went to sephora and i bought some eyeshadow and a brush for it, and i looked at all the makeup and tried some of the really expensive stuff on, just for fun. then i went to where the perfume was and sprayed some i liked on to the little perfume sample paper strips and stuck it in my purse so it would smell good. it didn't end up lasting very long tho. my aunt payed for my stuff just so she could see if she got something for paying $100 (i payed her back for my makeup tho), but all we got was a tiny powder compact that didn't match our skin tone and didn't even have a mirror. :( the makeup i bought was this urban decay eyeshadow and it was really sparkly and pretty, and i also got this sparkly purple sephora eye shadow.

we walked to abercrombie then, and it was definitely nothing like the one at lenox or perimeter or the mall of georgia. it had 4 floors, and there were about 3 floor models on every floor, just sitting there dancing to the music. i guess it would be cool to be payed to dance in an abercrombie. the people were different too. there were alot more older adults then at lenox, cuz usually only high schoolers and twentysomethings shop there. but w/e. it was really cool. i didn't buy anything there, mostly because things are cheaper where i live, but had a really great selection there. sadly, there's no hollister in nyc, so we obviously didn't get to go there. then we tried to find the kinokuniya bookstores, with not much success, so we just decided to go back to her apartment, milo needed feeding and walking anyway, so when we got back, we walked him around. then we had to start getting ready for wicked. we put on some music and started to do our toenails. i got finished with mine when my aunt was still filing hers, and she ended up getting a little behind schedule so she had to take a power shower and dry her hair really fast, then figure out what to wear, and she didn't really have time to put on any makeup, so she just put some in her purse and put it on while she was on the train.

we rushed out of the subway and made it to the theater with ten minutes to spare, in which we bought 2 bottles of water, some reesees piecees (what i call them) and some peanut m&ms. then we rushed to our seats and the show started. it was a really good musical, but about halfway through the first act, some person had to go to the bathroom, and she was on the aisle seat so she had to lean back to let them by. but when she leaned back she ripped her skirt on this little nail thing that was poking out of her seat. so at the intermission we found the manager and told him what had happened and he gave us this ridiculous cushion that was supposed to protect her from the nail, and which consequently made her look about 6 inches taller. she gave up on the cushion idea and just sat on the edge of her seat the rest of the show. the music is great in this play, and they had alot of funny lines in it too. after the show we went to starbucks cuz i had to go to the bathroom and the line was extremely long at the theater, and my aunt got a chai latte just cuz, and then we went home and went to sleep. we were exhausted, it was a pretty long day. tomorrow were going to brooklyn and we're going to see the murakami exhibit at BAM.

k well bi! -lily
