Music update…

First, I want to talk about Girls' Generation a.k.a So Nyeo Shi Dae – 소녀시대. Their first single is quite good, but heavily JPop-style oriented. Just like every single group from SM Entertainment, I can guarantee that they will release their Japanese single in a near future. Track 1 and 2 are recommended. However, again, I never like any group that contains more than five members (+ the fact that I don’t like any group from SM Entertainment); I will see what these girls can do.

Black Pearl, new female group from Mnet Media, is debuting with their first single ‘I Can't Help Liking You - 좋은걸 어떡해 - Joheun geol eotteokhae’. Watch for this song as it makes its way to the chart in a near future. Black Pearl is destined to be successful with their nickname as the ‘2^nd SeeYa’ (think SeeYa with ‘female SG Wannabe’). Hit-making composers that contributed to F.T Island, SeeYa, SG Wannabe’s… albums, will compose Black Pearl’s first album. Thumb up for Black Pearl. (In my opinion, the song is not that good, but it’s an easy-to-the-ears-type to what if you listen repeatedly, you will eventually fall for it.)

Ilac’s newest single, I Still Love You, is easy for ballad-listeners. Track 1, I Still Love You - 그래도 사랑합니다 - Keuraedo saranghamnida, is quite good (not as good as I though I would be, but it’s still listenable). Track 2, Pretty person - 예쁜 사람 - Yeppeun saram, is somewhat mid-tempo.

Even though M.Street’s single – Tension - is quite old, but due to the fact that not too many people know about it, I will do some promotion for M.Street right here. :D. Track 2, Live without knowing - 모르고 살텐데 - Moreugo saltende, is a heart-stopping, breath-taking track. I love this song a lot, and a lot . Check out the MV in my KPop Video folder.

Zia’s first single, Voice of Heaven, is a must. Zia debuted as a faceless singer, so right at this moment, nobody know her real face, but at least, her voice is fit for her single’s title, “Voice Of Heaven”. Her title track, Absentmindedly - 물끄러미 – Mulggeureomi, is quickly move up to the top right at this moment. It’s a very good ballad. Another good song from her single is track 2, Together With The Star In My Heart - 내 마음 별과 같이 - Nae maeum byeolgwa kachi, duet with KCM. If you like 가시리 - ga shi ri (All Star album, KCM duet SG Wannabe), you will love this song. These two songs have the same vibe. Track 4 is also ok, but i'm not oo crazy about it.

Son Ho Young’s single, can’t stand this one. The MV is beautiful, but the music is just not my type.

Xing’s single, My Girl, in my opinion, is bleh. The only track I like is track 5, Forget Our Memories. It’s an English song with KPop-style lyric. Quite a combination right there.

For some more fun, summer happy bumbum beat, go for Super Kidd’s Single, Korea Happy Groove!! How are U. Track 2, I'm gonna live good and then see what happens - 잘살고 볼일입니다 - jalsalgo bolleeleepneeda.

Park Sang Min’s Single, Max, is another good ballad single. Track 1 & 2 are recommended.

Enjel’s single, even though containing only one song, is worth giving a try. Her song “Out” is a mid tempo – upbeat track, with a little help from Lee Jae Won.

S.Jin’s newest single, is as good as his ‘S.Jin VS Ran’ last year. Recommended the whole single which contains two songs (and their instrument version…)

 

Enough for Single :X, it’s time for some albums…

I’m not sure what is going on, but the quality of the recent released albums is just terrible.

GIRL’s Vol 4 - Get Into, The Rock'n Roll Legend. Track 4, Adonis / Good looking young man - 아도니스 – ahdoneeseu, is addicting.

Lime-T Vol 1, Recollection. Track 4, 5 are good. (Like them)

Mr. Typhoon Vol1, Mi Vida Payaso. Finally some listenable hip-hop track. Track 8 is ok. The rest is annoying .

Shin Hye Sung, Vol 2 - The Beginning, New Days. I’m not a SHS’ fan, so the only song I can stand is track 6, Soliloquy – 혼잣말. (For his frist solo album, I can only stand Buen Camino). In addition, the song Soliloquy is not that good either. In my opinion, this album is a big blah. But since it’s SHIN HYE SUNG’s album, it will still have strong sales, as well as a hit song .

Fly To The Sky Vol 7, blah. It’s their worst album ever. Vol 6 is extraordinary, but vol 7 is blah blah blah. Give me something like ‘Like a Man - 남자답게 – namjadabggae’, I didn’t like My Angel at all .

Lee Seung Gi Vol 3….arhhhhhhhh…..I’ve waited so long for this album, and all I have in return is disappointment. He changes his style of singing. All the songs are just like tofu…tasteless…Track 3 and track 4 are recommended. I try to digest track 1, cuz it’s the title song for this album, and I know it will get high on the music chart in the future, but I just can’t stand it…

Girl Friends Vol 2…T-T…  they change their style as well, they go for the boring and annoying popish vibe. The only song I like from this album is track 10, To The Heart – 가슴에게.

Kim Jong Wook Vol 1. Track 8 is recommended.

As people usually say “Save the best for last”, here come my favorite album for the moment.

The Way Vol 1 – Rebirth . He’s a new artist, but his voice and choice of song are very refined. Track 5 is buzzing. In addition, his MV for this track is very good. It’s a sad love story, very sad T.T…both the girl and the boy in the MV are death T0T…. Track 3,5,6,9,10 are recommended.

 

Why are you thinking?... (=’’’o’’’=)

Yangpa…oh please, what’s wrong with her? Don’t get me wrong, I love Yangpa, but why she has to promote track 5 (even though it’s not a bad track either). Why not Love Letter or One person - 한 사람? Oh…yangpa  (Yangpa vol 5 is exquisite, give track 2,3,4,5,6,7,12 a try)

See Ya’s ‘Shall We Get Married? - 결혼할까요 – Gyeolhonhalkkayo’ is facing some fierce competition in the top 5 . After this song, they should switch to ‘How Can I Forget You? - 어떻게 널 잊겠니 - Eotteohge Neor Ijgessni’ or ‘Love Is Leaving - 사랑이 간다 - Sarangee Ganda’.

SG Wannabe are promoting ‘Stay’ right at this moment. What the heck~. Why not ‘Petals - 꽃잎 – Ggotip’ ? It’s a potential hit song right there. Stay… what are you thinking ……
